Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect when you use WebCodeShop, why we need it, and how you stay in control.
1. Who we are
WebCodeShop operates webcodeshop.com and is responsible for the personal data described here. We handle it in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Contact us about privacy at contact@webcodeshop.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and an encrypted (hashed) password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google.
- Order details — the products you buy, amounts, coupon used, your mobile number and the UPI transaction ID you submit. We never see or store your UPI PIN or bank details.
- Messages — what you send us through the Help Center or by email.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, used for security (for example sign-in alerts) and to keep the site working.
- Browser account marker — a random, signed first-party cookie and an encrypted account association used to deter repeated sign-ups in the same browser. We do not collect hardware identifiers or canvas fingerprints for this check.
- Newsletter — your email address if you subscribe.
3. How we use your data
- To create and secure your account, including one-time codes when you change your email and alerts when you sign in.
- To verify payments, deliver your keys, files and gift cards, and send order emails.
- To answer support requests.
- To send the newsletter and offers — only if you subscribed. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal and tax obligations.
5. How long we keep it
- Account data — while your account is open.
- Order and payment records — up to 8 years, as required for tax and accounting.
- Browser-account associations — up to one year; the check stops applying if the linked customer account has been deleted.
- Support messages — up to 2 years.
- Newsletter — until you unsubscribe.
6. First-party visitor analytics
Our private administrator dashboard records storefront page paths (without query strings), reported IP addresses, coarse browser/operating-system and device labels, the current viewport dimensions and responsive view category, visit timestamps and estimated time while a browser tab is visible. A random identifier in session storage groups views within a browser tab; it is not linked to your account or email. Shared connections and proxy headers mean an IP address is not a verified person or location.
Device labels are estimates from information exposed by the browser, not verified hardware models. We do not record page screenshots, full user-agent strings, serial numbers or hardware fingerprints for this tracker. Only JavaScript-enabled visits are recorded. Admin pages are excluded, and this tracker respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Records are removed during periodic cleanup after 30 days, with a maximum of 50,000 recent views. These records are available only to authorised administrators and are not sent to an external analytics provider. Timing may be incomplete when a browser blocks or closes the tracker.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed with scrypt, sessions use signed secure cookies, download links are private and expire, and one-time codes expire after 10 minutes. No system is 100% secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
8. Your rights
You can see and update your details in My account. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, and you can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email contact@webcodeshop.com — we reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Children
The site isn’t meant for children under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their data without a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and email you about important changes.
