This page lists every cookie and browser-storage item WebCodeShop uses, what it does and how long it lasts — so you know exactly what’s stored on your device.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies such as local storage work the same way. They let a site remember things — for example that you’re signed in or what’s in your cart.
2. Cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
wcs_account_browserEssential | Cookie | A signed first-party browser marker used to deter repeat account creation. Not a hardware fingerprint or cross-site tracker. | Up to 1 year |
wcs_sessionEssential | Cookie | HttpOnly, signed sign-in cookie; Secure on production HTTPS. Sign-out and password changes invalidate it. | Customers: 30 days; admins: 8 hours |
wcs_oauth_stateEssential | Cookie | Protects Google sign-in from forgery. | 10 minutes |
wcs_cart_v1, wcs_coupon_v1Essential | Local storage | Remembers your cart and applied coupon. | Until cleared |
wcs_auth_noticeEssential | Cookie | Signed, HttpOnly confirmation of a successful Google sign-in or sign-up; read only after authentication and then cleared. | Up to 2 minutes, or until shown |
wcs_pending_coupon_v1Essential | Session storage | Temporarily remembers the code you chose before sign-in so it can be checked when you return to your cart. It is not a login credential. | Up to 30 minutes, or until used/tab closed |
wcs_wishlist_v1Preference | Local storage | Remembers your wishlist before you sign in. | Until cleared |
wcs_products_v1, wcs_settings_v1Performance | Local storage | Caches the catalogue so pages load faster. | Until cleared |
_ga, _ga_*Analytics | Cookie | Google Analytics — only if enabled by us. Counts visits anonymously. | Up to 2 years |
We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The account-browser marker can block another sign-up from the same browser while allowing existing accounts to sign in. Clearing cookies, using private mode or another browser can bypass this check; it does not identify a physical device. Server-side account bindings are encrypted and expire after up to one year.
3. Third-party cookies
When you choose Continue with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its sign-in pages. If Google Analytics is enabled, Google sets the _ga cookies listed above. These are covered by Google’s own privacy policy.
4. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings (usually under Privacy or Site settings). Blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in, the cart and checkout from working. To opt out of Google Analytics on every site, you can use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
5. Changes
If we add or change cookies we’ll update this page and the date above. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
